Hanging Spring Egg

As Spring is finally here, we start to think about decorating our homes with flowers, and Easter decorations.

I covered the Papier Mache egg with a coating of Gesso. When dry I painted the outside of the egg in Grandmas Teacup.

The inside needs some colour too, so I added some Grandmas Teacup to the top and Peppermint tea paint on the bottom.

I flicked some white paint on the outside of the egg, to add some speckling

I stamped the images with an Archival Black ink pad, and then cut them out.

Some real twigs from the forest became a spring tree. I added some pink Flowersoft to the branches to look like lovely cherry blossom. I put a good covering of texture paste inside the base of the egg.

I fixed the tree, deers, and rabbits into the texture paste.

When the paste was dry, I coated it with some pva glue, and sprinkled some green Flowersoft inside for grass.

Happy 2017

Healthy and Happy 2017 !

My year with The Mixed Media Mojo Design Team has concluded, and this is my final project.I used the White Rabbit from Alice for my first project, so I thought I would use him again for my final project.

I carefully removed a page from my old Alice in Wonderland book.In the bottom left hand corner I used super thick Slap it on through the Indigoblu Rose Stencil.

I stamped Alice and the White Rabbit onto card and bought them to life with watercolours, and fussy cut them.

I randomly stamped some clocks and also added 2016 and 2017. On the top of the page I stamped some cascading raindrops.

I added some glossy accents over the top of the raindrops.

When dry I coloured the Rose blue, and adhered Alice and the White Rabbit onto the book page.

Play along with Mixed Media Mojo Challenge this month the theme is New and the twist is Clocks. There is a whole new Design Team so be sure to pay them a visit.

Thank you for visiting, may you enjoy every day of the new year.

Snowflakes Glistening

This a quick card I made this afternoon, using Indigoblu Winterland Wood stamp set. I love this stamp set as there are endless pictures and decorations you can make with it.The sentiment is from their Sparkle and Glisten Set.

My Sparkle and Glisten Box made with this set had a little picture in the currant Papercrafter Magazine. Unfortunately the ladies picture next to it was not me, so I hope she doesn't mind!

A Visit from an IndigoBlu Bird

I heard some tweeting outside in my garden today, and when I looked out I saw a lovely little bird. I went outside to say hello, and what a surprise, he said he was visiting me from IndigoBlu and was inviting me to join their International Design Team! What a huge surprise! I very quickly said YES!

Thank you Indigo Blu, what an honour to be invited to work with such a talented and respected company. I look forward to working with the great Indigo Blu team, and I will do my very best to do their wonderful products justice!

I gave the birdie some bird friendly snacks and a drink, he happily played for a while in our small fairy fountain, before flying back to IndigoBlu.

Hope and Courage

I used the beautiiful Boadicia stamp set from IndigoBlu, and coloured her with watercolours. I have made something quite simple with no extras added, but I think it says so much.

Thank you so much for looking.

Papercrafter Designer For The Day

I have been lucky enough to have been chosen for Designer for the Day in issue 97 of Papercrafter magazine.

If you would like to know how I made this card the details can be found in the magazine.

My 3D scene which I made with the lovely Indigo Blu Clumber Park stamps, was also in the magazine, which was a surprise.

There are lots of wonderful ideas in the magazine this month!

Clumber Park

I was surprised and delighted to have won the Indigo Blu Challenge. I was invited to be a guest designer for this months theme which is "May All Your Dreams Come True"

I used the lovely Clumber Park set for this scene, which I choose for my winning prize!

In my dreams I am healthy and able bodied and my beloved dog Tammy would still be with me. We would be walking together through this beautiful park. That really would be all my dreams come true!

I used a lid from a round box for the base. I stamped the lovely dog, ducks and the reeds, and carefully cut them out.

I added some brown fun flock to the top of the reeds, to give them a more realistic look.

I die cut a tree and covered it in gesso and painted it with water colours. I also coated the box lid with gesso and painted it. I made a little lake on the top of the box, and filled it with glossy accents to give it a watery glossy look.

I glued the flying ducks onto some thin wire and poked the wire into the top of the lid, so they could fly happily over the lake.

A view from above.

Thank you for visiting.

George picking flowers

Created by Jannet Blay http://gillslap.blogspot.co.uk/
It was a lovely sunny spring morning, so George picked up his basket, and skipped into the garden. He wanted to pick his Mum some flowers, because of course he had the best Mum in all the world. After he had picked a few George felt sleepy and gently snuggled down on the soft grass for a nap.....

I started making George's garden with a biscuit box and I covered the sides in lovely Indigo Blu papers. Green felt made the grass , I just scratched it up a bit to make it more fluffy.

Well no garden is complete without flowers, so I die cut a few. I then used water colours to add some colour to them and added a pearl dot in the middle.

I made the stems and leaves with some green wire.

Now George needed a basket to carry the flowers in, so I plaited some paper together to make a basket.

I put some lovely yellow ribbon with tiny pom poms on around the top of the sides.

George was getting impatient so I quickly coloured him with some watercolours and placed him on top of the grass. I then added lots of the flowers around him, so he was very happy and content.

This is going to be a gift box so I covered the bottom with some more Indigo Blu papers and cut a little door into the bottom. I think some chocolates or a gift card etc would fit inside ok.

I used an array of different medias to create this, I hope you like it.

Thank you for visiting George today, he loved seeing you.
