By The Sea

I love the sea, although sadly I do not see it very often, and then I only see it from a distance as unfortunately beaches are not wheelchair accessible, but at least I can see it for which I am very  grateful.
With the sea in mind I created this 7x7  card. The background is from the gelli plate. I inked up the gelli plate and then placed the netting from some tangerines over the top, and it left this nice netty pattern. I cut some pieces of bark for the seagull to stand on, I must admit I don’t like seagulls as one of them swooped behind me last year and snatched my sandwich right out of my hands!

I also added some art stones and few tiny shells, some stamped and some real.To finish off I wound some twine around the edge of the circle.

The stamps I used  are by Crafty Secrets.

Thank you for visiting today, have a lovely day. Hugs xx

By Your Side Lace Card

Hello how are you today? The lovely challenge at Frilly and Funkie is Layers of Lace. Unfortunately the only lace I have was given to me by a friend of my Mothers and is very, very bright red! I am a pastel person so I didn’t think I would ever be using it! Then I remembered seeing Barbara Gray do something with lace and mini gelli plates at a craft show, the mini plates also had mounts. I don’t have any of those items, but I do have a normal size gelli plate so I thought I would experiment and try to achieve the same sort of effect.

I brayered my ink onto the gelli plate, and then laid my rather vibrant lace on top.I used some copy paper to lay over it to tap it down in place. Then after crossing everything I can ( which isn’t much) I placed my card onto the plate and patted it all over, and with trepidation I pulled it back.... it worked out okish! A darker ink would have shown up more, but I do like my pastel shades!

I then stamped a gorgeous Teddy stamp by Crafty Individuals, and gave the larger teddy some ribbon lace on the bottom, of her pretty dress, and added some gems to both teddies. After adhering them to the card with sticky foam pads, I stamped the gorgeous sentiment which is also from Crafty Individuals.

Thank, you for visiting myself and the teddies today.

The Voice of The Sea Speaks to the Soul Mini Scrapbook

This months Challenge theme at Mixed Media Mojo is Summertime with a Twist of Shells. you do not have to use the twist if you don't want to, it's all about having fun!

I made this fairly simple 6 x 6 mini book for the theme. I will be adding a few notes and pictures about how I created it later this month.

I hope you will join in the fun this month.

Dreams published in Craft Stamper

Now that May's Craft Stamper has been published, I can post this card. I love this Dreams stamp by Inkylicious. I started by making a background on the gelli plate, by using a brayer to add some inks. I dipped the broken edge of some polystyrene into some ink and stamped it around the edges. (you often get polystyrene in packaging so I always save mine !) Using the polystyrene gives a random dotted effect.

I chose a Kraft card blank, and gently twisted some raffia before placing it down the left side of the card.

There are lots of lovely projects to read in Mays Craft Stamper plus a free blossom stamp!

I was so thrilled to be published in Craft Stamper again, thank you.
